Under the auspices of the Deanship of the College of Nursing at the University of Basrah and the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdulameer Abdullah Almusawi, Dean of the College, a scientific research was discussed within the graduation projects of the fourth stage students and the research prepared by students Amna Abdul Rahman and Muhammad Hassan, entitled (Knowledge of Workers in Radiology Departments in Hospitals of Thi-Qar Governorate about Covid-19), under the supervision of the lecturer, Dr. Husham Hussain - Diagnostic radiologist, the discussion took place electronically via the ( Google meet ) platform on Monday, 12/7/2021, and the discussion committee was chaired by the lecturer, Dr. Adel Ali, and the membership of the assistant lecturer Khadija Muhammad and the assistant lecturer Saadoun Abbas. The study included a sample of workers in the diagnostic radiology departments in the hospitals of Thi-Qar governorate of various functional titles using a questionnaire prepared for the purpose of studying their knowledge about Covid-19 in terms of (general knowledge about the virus that causes the disease and its characteristics, clinical features of infection with the virus, methods of diagnosing the disease, treating the infected patients and their follow-up, how the workers in the radiology departments deal with the disease and the affected patients), the study has proven that the knowledge of the participants about the disease was at high level and no significant correlation between the their knowledge and demographic and occupational variables. The researchers recommended the need to maintain high knowledge of the workers in the radiology departments through the establishment of educational seminars and training courses on ways to deal with the disease, as well as the establishment of similar studies on the medical and other health classes most vulnerable to infection. Almusawi praised the research idea and the results and recommendations reached by the researchers and commended the efforts of the student researchers, the research supervisor and the discussion committee, wishing them more giving in the service of our dear college and university. |
